Universal Lateral Files are available in 4 drawer configurations ranging from 1 1/2 high to 3 high to accommodate a variety of storage needs. The outer case is constructed with a solid piece of steel and includes a counterweight inside for added stability.

What is a lateral filing cabinet?
Lateral filing cabinets are designed to be shorter and wider than their traditional vertical counterparts. This allows lateral cabinets to typically be able to hold more files than typical vertical filing cabinets, as well as being able to use the wider surface space on top for additional storage or work surface. Files can be stored either front to back or side to side, and the dimensions make them suitable for both legal- and letter-sized files.
Will the Universal Lateral Filing Cabinet work with my desk?
The low profile and streamlined design of our lateral filing cabinet is designed to be placed alongside desks of any height. Depending on the configuration of their workspace, many users have placed their lateral filing cabinets between two desks, alongside their existing desk, or even underneath their desk if they have enough space.
Can lateral filing cabinets be stacked?
Larger filing cabinets such as lateral cabinets should never be stacked, in order to reduce the risk of tipping. Additional file cabinets should be placed side-by-side to increase storage capacity without running the risk of a cabinet falling over and creating a safety hazard.
How can you remove drawers from your lateral filing cabinet?
Press down on the lock catch on each side of the drawer and pull out on the drawer as shown. Pull the lateral file drawer out until it stops. Press in on the lock retainer on each side of the drawer and at the same time pull up and out on the drawer as shown.
