The largest difference between the two chairs comes down to dimensions and features.

The overall back width and height on Series 2 is slightly larger compared to Series 1.

The Series 2 chair features a higher performing arm, the Series 2 arms are connected to the mechanism so when you recline, your arms stay parallel to the ground keeping you connected to your work and technology.

The Series 1 arms are attached to the back and will follow the back in recline slightly moving your arms up.

Series 2 offers a unique combination of height-adjustable lumbar support, controlled by two handles on the chair’s back, and our LiveBack technology that offers a geometric design supporting every point of contact on the spine, for the entire length of the chair.

The weight-activated mechanism takes the guesswork out of adjustments and relies on your bodyweight to do most of the adjustments automatically to customize your sit.

The three back comfort settings included on Series 2 are: 1. upright back lock, 2. full recline range with weight-activated tension + boost (boost adds 20% additional back tension resistance), and 3. full recline range with weight-activated tension.

Each Series 2 provides several points of adjustment all over the chair to support your natural sitting style. Here are some tips:

- Push your hips as far back as they can go in the chair seat, so shoulders are parallel to your sit bones.

- Adjust the seat height so your feet are flat on the floor and your knees equal to, or slightly lower than, your hips. To raise the chair, lift your body weight and pull the lever up. To lower the chair, stay seated and pull the lever up.

- Adjust the seat depth: Lift weight out of the seat when adjusting depth and pull handle and hold, slide seat forward or back, and release lever handle lock. With your back against the chair, you should have 2"– 3" of space between the back of your knees and the seat edge.

- Adjust lumbar: Grab both handles and slide up or down. Position the lumbar to fit comfortably into the curve of your lower back

- Adjust the armrests so that your arms are at a 90-degree angle with your hands comfortably resting on the worksurface. Series 2 features height, width, pivot, and depth adjustable arms.
